Tuesday – 17.04.2018
An open lesson
From 16 to 21 April, 2018, in the East Kazakhstan Humanitarian College was held the subject week of foreign languages. Holding a week of foreign languages has became an integral part of the educational process, contributing to a deeper mastery of a foreign language.
According to the Week of Foreign Language, on April 17, 2018, in the group 2 F.L1 there was held an open lesson on the topic of "Weather forecast" on the subject "Practical Work of a foreign language" The online lesson was conducted by the English language Seitzada I.E. The educational activity of the students aroused their interest, activity, understanding of the material, its significance at the lesson. The lesson uses song material, which allows stimulating cognitive motivation of students, creates a creative atmosphere at the lesson. The purpose of the lesson was achieved, which can be clearly seen from the activity and assessments of students.

Contest of Reciters ‘The Beauty of the English Poetry’
On April 18, 2018 as a part of the week of the SGC of Languages and Literature, teachers of a foreign language Kassenova G.K. and Seitzada I.E., conducted a contest of reciters in English among students of the 1-3 courses of the EKHC. The event was attended by 12 people. The competition featured works by R. Kipling, R. Burns, R. Stevenson, A. Milne and other famous English writers.
The jury were Konarbaeva G.G, Utepova Z.Sh., Seitzada I.Е. They evaluated the reciters by several criteria: pronunciation, intonation, creativity of performance. Expressiveness and confidence of reading, slide accompaniment of the work were taken into account.
The best reciters of prosaic passages were recognized:
Islamova Nadira - (group 2-shk-2) - I place, the teacher - Tolykbaeva Makpal Toktarbekkzy.
Kirichenko Alexandra - (gr. 2-fr-1) - 2nd place, the teacher - Kassenova Gulzhan Kairdinovna.
Kuanbekova Tolganai - (gr. 2-info-1) - 3rd place, teacher - Kusmanova Nazerke Erbolovna.
Other participants were awarded by certificates.
The SGC of Languages and Literature thanks all participants, members of the jury, and also the teachers who prepared the children for the contest.
Thursday – 19.04.2018
"Tournament of connoisseurs of the Russian language"
On April 19, 2018 within the Week of the SGC "Languages and Literature" teacher of Russian language and literature Akatova G.R. held "Tournament of connoisseurs of the Russian language" among the groups 1-do-1 and 1-info-1. During the event, both team members and fans took an active part.
The purpose of this event was to broaden the horizons of students and develop their cognitive interests in the subjects of the humanitarian cycle; training of logical thinking; increase in vocabulary; development of creative abilities of students; development of communication skills.
The students' answers were appreciated by a strict jury. At the end of the event, the teams were awarded diplomas of 1 and 2 degrees.
Competition «Spelling Bee»
Students of our college participated in an unusual spelling competition. On 19th of April within the week of the SGC "Languages and Literature", there was a spelling contest for English words "Spelling Bee".
According to the rules, the pronouncer calls the word and the speller should spell the word letter by letter. When the speller is sure she/he understands the word, she pronounces it, spells it and then says the word again. She must say it loudly enough for the judge to hear it.. Then the judges confirm the correctness. The competition was held on rounds, in each participant, misunderstood words, dropped out of the competition. And only the last three became winners.

- In fact, this competition is very difficult. Because in English the spelling of words is very different from their reading. During the contest we could ask two questions: the meaning and origin of the word.
Kusmanova Nazerke, teacher of English:
- English is the language of world trade, business and communication. Therefore, we are striving to increase the number of students who are fluent in this language. All participants amazing, because the finalists who take part here are the best in the college.

Friday – 20.04.2018
Final Conference on Professional Practice
On April 20, 2018, within the framework of the week of SGC "Languages and Literature" group 3-do-1 of specialty 0101000 - "Pre-school education and training", qualification 0101013 "Educatorat Pre-school institutions" held the final conference on professional practice "Practice on the choice of students."

Students of the group 3-do-1 were able to demonstrate the professional level of English as an English teacher in pre-school organizations through songs, dances, warm-ups, dialogues and role-play games.
The conference ended with a positive response of the administration of the college and guests.

Meeting with a native speaker – Kathleen Hyde
On the same day, a practical lesson of the English language for students of the 1st and 3rd courses on the qualification "Teacher of a foreign language" was held in the college. The lesson was conducted by the KASU trainer Kathleen Hyde, a certified English teacher, Portland, Oregon, USA.
Communication with the native speaker took place in a playful, informal form. The lesson was completely in English and the coach prepared a lot of interesting tasks: the students learned the poem, composed the texts, asked questions and expressed their opinions on certain topics.
The meeting was interesting, on a positive wave. In turn, Caitlin Hyde noted a good level of knowledge of students and expressed a desire to continue cooperation.
Regional Olympiad "Tіldaryn-2018"
The regional Olympiad "Tіldaryn-2018" was held in the college for training institutions of the TVE system for knowledge of Kazakh, Russian and English languages.
The purpose of the Olympiad:
- Propaganda of perfect possession of three languages - Kazakh, Russian and English within the framework of the State Program for the Development and Functioning of Languages 2011-2020.

This Olympiad confirmed the need for three languages: Kazakh, Russian, English. And it can be said that students of colleges gradually improve their knowledge of this polygamy program. We think that it is necessary to deepen this work and complicate the tasks, so that the participants of the Olympiads strive for perfection.

Meeting on the theme «Different languages – different cultures»
College students met with the Filipin Janin and Rauena, teachers of the School-Lyceum of Nur-Orda of Ust-Kamenogorsk. The meeting touched upon the topic of foreign languages, nationalities and intercultural communication. The students of the 1-3 courses were able to freely express their thoughts and received answers to all questions of interest. The meeting ended on a positive wave and is full of useful information for students.
